Strong Enough To Love
In this message, Pastor Lance closed out our STAND FIRM series with a message called “Strong Enough to Love.” And if you’ve ever thought love was the “soft part” of following Jesus… Paul would disagree.
In 1 Corinthians 16:13–14, we’re commanded to be watchful, stand firm, be strong… and then Paul says: “Let all that you do be done in love.”
Because without love, strength turns harsh, conviction turns prideful, and watchfulness turns suspicious.
We also walked through 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 as a mirror for our lives:
Love is patient and kind… not envious, not boastful, not arrogant or rude… not irritable or resentful… and it bears, believes, hopes, and endures.
Two takeaways from the message:
1. Love is a decision to live out, not a feeling to fall into.
2. Love is the overflow of being loved by God. We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19), and He proved it at the cross (Romans 5:8).
If you’ve felt your love growing cold... toward people, your spouse, your kids, even yourself, this message is for you.
